Good Sense Budget Course
The Co-Cathedral will host a one-day course on how to combine
gospel values and financial wisdom. You will learn what the Bible says
about finances and how to combat cultural myths such as “debit is
expected and unavoidable”; “things bring happiness” and, “a little more money will solve all my problems!”
CPAs and professional
Financial Consultants will be conducting the Good Sense Budget Course. By the end of this course you will have:
· A
spending plan in hand
· Three
different record-keeping systems to help you stick to your plan
· The
knowledge in your head to implement it, and
· A
commitment in your heart to follow through.
The program is fast-paced, uses multimedia, and is very
practical. It is not only for those facing financial difficulty.
Anyone who wants to grow spiritually and financially is encouraged to
attend.
The cost is only $20 per individual or $30 per couple, which includes
refreshments, workbooks and all necessary supplies.
To ensure that the course materials arrive in time, participants must
register with the Parish Office no later than two weeks prior to the
course. Pre-work materials will need to be completed before attending
the course and will be given to you when you register.
Where your treasure is,
There your heart will be also.

LIVING your STRENGTHS Journey
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Stop feeling badly about who you are not
and discover and celebrate who you are!
LIVING your STRENGTHS Journey
A seven-week program designed for small group discussion.
At the core of this popular program is the conviction that we best serve
God and others when we make the most of our God given talents.
Traditional thought tells us to identify what is wrong with ourselves and to focus on “fixing” those shortcomings.
In sharp contrast, the strengths philosophy says people should discover
their talents—the ways in which they, as unique individuals, most
naturally think, feel, and behave—and achieve excellence by building
upon those talents to create strengths.
Participants in the LIVING your STRENGTHS Journey will discover their greatest talents and learn how to apply them in
their lives both within and beyond the walls of the Church.
Formation Toward Christian Ministry
(FTCM)
The Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, in collaboration with the
Archdiocesan Office of Continuing Christian Education, will sere as a
center for this three semester course of study.
Many adult
Catholics desire additional education about their faith. It can lead to
a deeper knowledge and love of Jesus Christ and the Church and a firm
commitment to follow him.
The FTCM program
seeks to develop the basic academic, spiritual and critical reflection
skills necessary for adults to go forth in mission.
In addition, FTCM
courses meet the requirements for archdiocesan certification as a
catechist and are also a pre-requisite for catechetical leadership
formation and diaconate formation.
RCIA
(Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults)
RCIA is the initiation process for people who are interested in becoming
Catholic. It is for those who have never been baptized or who were
baptized in another denomination and now wish to consider joining the
Catholic Church.
The RCIA is a step-by-step process, with no pressure to commit to our
faith community, in which interested persons explore the beliefs and
traditions of the Catholic Church over a period of several months or
years, as needed.
If you, a relative, friend, or co-worker is interested, please contact
the Pastoral Associate in the Co-Cathedral office for more information.
RCIA SPONSORS
In the RCIA each person inquiring about the Catholic faith is assigned
a sponsor to be a supportive companion as they journey through the
process. It is a wonderful way to renew and deepen one’s own faith.
Sponsors need not be theological scholars rather, they should possess
the desire to share their faith and a willingness to support another
person in their faith journey. If you would like to serve in this
integral and rewarding ministry, contact the Pastoral Associate.
NEW PARISHIONER NIGHT
Newly registered parishioners are invited to the Parish Hall for a wine
and cheese party on the third Sunday of the first month of each quarter
(Jan., April, July, Oct.) from 6:30pm—8:00pm unless otherwise noted in
the Sunday Bulletin.
This is a wonderful opportunity to meet fellow parishioners, learn about
the history of the Co-Cathedral, plans for the new Co-Cathedral and
about the various ministries serving the parish and community.
If you are new to the parish or have never attended New Parishioner
Night we hope you will plan to attend in the month most convenient for
you.
(Please RSVP to the Parish Office.)
